In the digital age, where the increasing number of companies is driving their customers to Web, toll-free numbers apparently have little value for enhancing customer engagement.
However, Vanity International, an identity design firm that creates brands with complementary Internet domain and vanity toll-free numbers, maintains that there are times when the customers prefer direct communication with a company rep over self service, especially when things go wrong or a frustrating question goes unanswered.
In an effort to capitalize on these facts and take its mobile communication services to a new level, iTalk Inc. has decided to acquire Vanity International’s 1-800-GET-VOIP brand from Softline Studios.
iTalk is a global provider of advanced communications and mobile broadband services.
With the acquisition of the 1-800-GET-VOIP vanity toll free telephone number and related domains, GetVoip.TV, 800GetVoip.com, 1-800-Get-Voip.com and 800-Get-Voip.com, the company now obtains the brand name needed to promote its affordable subscriber-based telephone service to the masses in North America and beyond.
“Until now there has not been a truly dominant brand connection to VoIP service. Our new 1-800-GET-VOIP brand will be used to launch a new retail Voice-over-IP subscriber-based telephone service targeted to compete head-to-head with VoIP industry leaders like Vonage (News - Alert). iTalk is planning to commit substantial financial resources to promoting the new brand and just like 800-Pet-MEDS®, 1-800-FLOWERS®, and other unforgettable household names, we envision 1-800-GET-VOIP will become the brand name synonymous with global VoIP services,” Chief Executive Officer of iTalk Inc David F. Levy.
iTalk also recently signed a Letter of Intent to acquire the assets and business of ITG, Inc., a telecommunications company.
“The proposed ITG transaction is another prime example of a targeted acquisition of a complimentary business that would allow iTalk to immediately expand its product offerings, customer base, and backend process capabilities,” added Levy.
