Voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) is looked upon as a necessity these days by businesses seeking to remain profitable for the long term as well as keep their competitive edge. Hence, the amount of VoIP users is increasing daily and according to a recent report from Infonetics (News - Alert) in Q4 2012, the VoIP and IMS equipment market including VoIP switches grew nearly 9 percent since the same period the year prior.

The analyst firm attributes this growth to the leveraging of IMS within LTE (News - Alert)-based wireless networks, something forecasted to continue to ramp up throughout 2013.

"It's still early days for IMS equipment and applications for LTE, but a handful of operators are placing orders that are positively impacting revenue," said Diane Myers, principal analyst for VoIP, UC and IMS at Infonetics Research (News - Alert), in a statement.

The expansion of both spaces respectively is also due to the strong demand for seamless integration of IMS, voice application servers and softswitches, all of which combined raked in sales throughout the world to the tune of $800 million mark. Both the Caribbean and Latin America areas showed the highest rate of growth, coming in at nearly 37 percent.

Sippy Software is one of the most notable VoIP switches providers out there, touted as being a leading force behind carrier grade softswitch technology that can meet an array of demands set forth by Internet telephony carriers.

The company’s next-generation switch can power multiple capabilities via one easy-to-use platform and assists VoIP carriers to develop extremely reliable and scalable networks with relatively no associated complexity.

The site stated, “VoIP providers are increasingly offering converged voice services based on the session initiation protocol (SIP) to meet the demands of a changing business environment and attract new subscribers. As one of the biggest companies in this field, Sippy Software offers several SIP-centric products, allowing VoIP providers to quickly enter the market and offer their customers a quality and feature-rich service.”

At this time, the VoIP switch provider has over 10 hosting locations spread throughout the United States, Europe and Australia which makes up the biggest virtual hosting footprint of any firm. It can fully support environments consisting of 100 lines up to 4,000 simultaneously, and adds to its partner portfolio by the day.

Another highlight of this platform is its cost-effectiveness. Even the smallest sized company can take advantage of this offering to either start or enhance their telecommunications suite, so why shouldn’t your firm be one of them?
