Reve Systems Unveils iTel Switch Plus Security Device for VoIP Switch Customers

VoIP software vendor REVE Systems has just unveiled its iTel Switch Plus Security Device to deliver secondary level authentication to VoIP switches.
The company’s carrier grade softswitch includes an integrated billing functionality as well as an interactive voice response (IVR) system. This softswitch was designed to give VoIP service providers access to robust features including multilevel reseller support.
While VoIP has grown in popularity in recent years, security concerns associated with this service is still haunting many organizations. The new VoIP switch authentication system in a way alleviates these concerns.
REVE Systems currently works with Internet and Internet telephony service providers, international long distance carriers, telecom resellers and telecom/mobile virtual network operators in over 65 countries who leverage its mobile VoIP products including a complete IP telephony platform, billing applications and tunneling products.
Basically how the iTel Switch Plus Security Device works is it generates a one time password (OTP) which is required to be entered at the time of logging into iTel Switch Plus. This OTP in turn provides secondary level authentication.
The device has the ability to generate different codes every time, which means even if someone happens to know a username and password, he or she will not be able to login to the VoIP switch account without entering a security code. This secondary level authentication protects the VoIP switch customers from hacking and phishing attacks.
In fact, the VoIP switch provider claims to be the first organization to introduce this kind of advanced level security system to the VoIP industry.
"We are happy to introduce iTel Switch Plus Security Device for our softswitch customers as it will provide advanced protection to their VoIP business," said REVE Systems CEO M Rezaul Hassan, in a statement.
