GENBAND (News - Alert), a provider of IP infrastructure solutions, recently revealed that it is helping the Hong Kong Broadband Network (HKBN) migrate their TDM and first generation VoIP switches to GENBAND’s IP-based platform as part of a network modernization plan.

HKBN is one of the fastest growing broadband service providers in Hong Kong and selected the GENBAND GENiUS all-IP platform to enable the transformation and modernization of its communications network.  The process includes migration of TDM and first generation VoIP switches, as well as first generation SIP servers to the GENiUS-powered IP solution.

HKBN powers its fiber service to approximately two million residential homes and 1,700 commercial buildings in the region. The services include 100-1000 Mbps broadband access, telephony and IPTV (News - Alert). With the GENBAND advanced GENiUS IP platform encompassing both VoIP switches and SIP servers, the provider will be able to deliver advanced multimedia communications capabilities to its customers.
