Neutral Tandem Expands Network by Deploying PSX Voice Soft-switch From Sonus Networks

Neutral Tandem (News - Alert), Inc., has expanded its network in an interconnection hub in the Telehouse Docklands North location in London by deploying a PSX voice soft-switch from Sonus Networks (News - Alert). The company, a provider of interconnection services, will now be able to provide its international carrier customers with increased network flexibility.
With the expansion of its network in the new location, carrier customers of Neutral Tandem can utilize the additional flexibility of its network to interconnect seamlessly through TDM or SIP/IP. Furthermore, by leveraging voice termination services from Neutral Tandem such as CommonPoint, carriers will be able to complete calls to both wireless and wireline telephony end points across the U.S.
Neutral Tandem's carrier customers will also be able to interconnect directly with its voice network through SIP\IP in several countries located across the globe, including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Singapore, Canada, as well as in the U.S.
In a release, Edward Evans, CEO of Neutral Tandem, said, "Deploying a voice soft switch in Telehouse's facility in London reinforces our ongoing commitment to expand our International Voice Services, and provides scalable, high quality, direct termination for our carrier customers. This deployment is yet another milestone attained by Neutral Tandem as we expand globally and strengthen our fully meshed, all-IP, MPLS network, and streamline how competitive carriers route traffic between one another."
Established in 2003, Neutral Tandema provides voice, data and video interconnection services to wireless carriers, cable companies, CLECs and broadband service providers located across the globe. Currently, the company's network, which carries over ten billion minutes of traffic per month, is utilized by several of the industry’s top national and regional wireless carriers, cable and broadband companies.
