We’re in an era where mobile computing devices are replacing their desktop counterparts. As such, the concept of “bring your own device,” or BYOD, is becoming an attractive option, but it raises security concerns for many.
Datamation reports that BYOD initiatives should have multiple layers of security, writes VoIP solutions provider Teo.
The proliferation of enterprise smartphones and tablets—both corporate and personally owned—makes security a top priority for IT organizations. Professionals will show an increase in productivity when they can choose which devices to use, as opposed to being forced to use one they may or may not be comfortable with.
As far as choosing which BYOD approach to go with, businesses have two options – either let employees bring the devices of their choice or have IT determine and provide the electronics deemed okay to use on a network.
“Decision-makers need to consider the expenses that can rack up during BYOD deployments. The loss of sensitive information, for example, can create ripples throughout the enterprise, inflicting more costs and damaging reputations,” writes Teo.
BYOD is a result of a drive to change, one in which companies will find it attractive for employees to pay for part of the bill by using their own devices. The shift to BYOD has also led to employees using VoIP solutions on the go, as many of their devices come with VoIP solutions already installed, ready to use.
A recent report on TMCnet discusses the drive for change, how it has impacted the BYOD phenomenon, and how Teo is at the hub of BYOD security, protecting the network and all of its counterparts.
With VoIP solutions and Teo’s platforms allow businesses to support and thrive in a BYOD era, allowing employees to carry one device that does it all – including tapping VoIP solutions.
“The revolutionary UC solution is designed to be highly affordable and enable your employees to carry one phone for everything, while you manage one IP extension regardless of their location,” the report notes.
