Today the first O2 (News - Alert) 4G network was launched in London and all signs are pointing that due to the introduction of this innovative network, mobile VoIP solutions users will benefit greatly. A testing phase for this network will take place during the next nine months, with hundreds of people ranging from business owners to consumers gaining access to the latest in 4G technology. In total, over 25 4G sites will go live this month in the U.K., according to Telappliant.com.
In the article, Chief Executive Officer of Telefonica (News - Alert) U.K. (O2) Ronan Dunne commented in regards to the recent deployment that it "demonstrates our commitment to delivering 4G to our customers at the earliest opportunity". Dunne added that this trial period will "lay the foundations" for the company's commercial network when it is initially unveiled in the U.K.
Some of the businesses involved in this trial include John Lewis, the Institution of Engineering and Technology, Enterprise Nation and Gizmodo U.K.
