It's no secret that both VoIP and the cloud have had a significant impact on how businesses today operate, and Infonetics Research's (News - Alert) most recent "VoIP and UC Services and Subscribers" market forecast report just confirms this notion further. In fact, the report reveals that VoIP has become the norm in a number of countries, while hosted telephony and unified communications are increasing in popularity by the day.
"The market for VoIP services has moved well beyond the early adopter stage to mainstream status in many developed countries. New geographic regions are opening up, and SIP trunking and hosted UC continue to heat things up, fueling growth," said Diane Myers, principal analyst for VoIP, UC, and IMS at Infonetics Research, in a statement. "Vendors are increasingly pitching cloud telephony and unified communications services alongside SIP trunking as more multi-site businesses seek out hybrid solutions."
In terms of numbers, the global VoIP services market — which includes both residential and business VoIP services, grew nine percent in 2012 to hit $63 billion. The market is expected to continue its growth over the next few years to hit $82.7 billion in 2017.
Meanwhile, massive demand for enterprise cloud-based services drove hosted VoIP and unified communications services revenue growth for a 17 percent increase between 2011 and 2012, the most growth seen from any segment.
As such, cloud-based communications providers such as AVOXI tend to make the most substantial gains in the years ahead. This is especially true as AVOXI specializes in meeting the international calling needs of call centers, hotels, tour operators and global enterprises — operations which require reliable, advanced, cloud-based solutions the most.
Despite this, the company doesn't seem content to rest on its laurels as it is working hard to educate users on the many benefits of VoIP, as well as other telecommunications and enhanced VoIP solutions, such as toll free services, Cloud PBXs and call center solutions.
