As one of the newest members of the European Competitive Telecommunications Association, Empirix (News - Alert) aims to help the associations’ operator members better understand and address the challenges of service quality assurance in order to meet both regulatory requirements and their own service standards.
The VoIP testing and monitoring solutions provider has joined the ECTA as an ‘Associate’ member just as the organization is actively investing in next-generation networks throughout Europe.
JD Doyle, global vice president of Worldwide Service Assurance at Empirix, said the association represents the pro-competitive element in the European telecoms industry.
“As they roll out new services across such networks, it is vital for them to maintain the high levels of service quality that customers have come to expect,” said Doyle. “We look forward to leading discussions with ECTA to make sure its operator members gain the full benefits of pursuing service quality assurance as a key business strategy.”
Since 1992, Empirix’s Hammer testing and monitoring solutions have helped Network Equipment Manufacturers (NEMs), Service Providers and Enterprise Contact Centers transition to new technologies including Unified Communications (News - Alert) IP Contact Centers, VoIP, NGN, and IMS-based networks.
Innocenzo Genna, chairman of ECTA, said the organization is “confident that ECTA members will benefit from Empirix’s expertise, helping them understand the value of service quality assurance and determining the best network and service performance monitoring strategies.”
The ECTA was formed to look after the regulatory and commercial interests of new entrant telecoms operators, ISPs and suppliers of products and services to the communications industry. It overarching goal is to establish a fair regulatory environment that allows all electronic communications providers to compete on level terms in order to multiply investment and innovation throughout an effective European internal market.
Doyle said Empirix and ECTA will work together to conduct a member audit to determine appropriate plans for upcoming discussions on service quality assurance.
As TMCnet reported, Empirix was recently received the 2009 Global VoIP Testing & Monitoring Equipment Market Leadership of the Year Award from research firm Frost & Sullivan (News - Alert).
According to the Frost & Sullivan, Empirix made significant strides in the world of VoIP testing and monitoring in 2007 and 2008 with a majority of tier one network equipment manufacturers and service providers already using Empirix's Hammer solutions. Hammer is the primary weapon in the company's product portfolio and has a range consisting of test and monitoring solutions for a wide customer base, strategic partnerships and its global expansion strategy.
