PortaOne (News - Alert), a provider of VoIP management solutions, announced that Backbone Solutions, a Schindellegi, Switzerland-based provider of VoIP and Internet services, has grown over time by delivering on its core competencies for the last nine years, thanks to PortaSwitch Procinctus VoIP services and subscriber management platform.
By featuring VoIP softswitch, customer provisioning, billing, as well as unified voice, data, fax, content, SMS, and WiFi traffic, PortaSwitch Procinctus helps Internet Telephony (News - Alert) Service Providers (ITSPs) deliver high capacity, fully redundant and converged VoIP infrastructure.
Backbone Solutions deployed PortaSwitch more than eight years ago to support a non-operational staging system to develop, test and train personnel on new VoIP services. As the company grew, it was able to add elements and servers to support PortaSwitch Procinctus in 2010. As a result the company was able to adapt to its subscriber additions with virtually no interruption in service.
"PortaSwitch Procinctus has not only grown with us, it is one of the primary reasons we've been able to grow our VoIP customer base over time," said Michael Vontobel, CEO of Backbone Solutions, in a statement. "It has allowed us to gradually improve the capacity and redundancy of our system as our needs have changed. We can also be unusually flexible in the services we provide because of the open access to the PortaSwitch source code. No other major vendor provides that capability."
PortaSwitch Procinctus supports Backbone Solutions’ business and residential customers as well as wholesale VoIP to Internet Service Provider (ISP) resellers.
The VoIP management solution has helped the company automate its operations and save on staff costs. It also reduces the risk of human errors. Additionally, the VoIP provider is able to bring services to market extremely fast because there is no need for interoperability tests or costly integration projects.
"PortaOne is a very professional, reliable technology partner that offers strong technical support," said Vontobel. "As we've grown over time, we've come to both enjoy and appreciate the experience of dealing with everyone at PortaOne."
