A Buffalo, N.Y.-based provider of VoIP equipment announced today it is experiencing “tremendous success” with its buyback program introduced in December 2009.
According to officials at VoIP Supply, the company is on pace to purchase over $2 million worth of used and legacy equipment in 2010 as part of its “Reclaim” buyback program.
“Through our Beta trial early in 2009 we knew that there was a need and demand for a service such as Reclaim,” said Garrett Smith (News - Alert) Director of Marketing and Business Development at VoIP Supply. “However since formally launching the program in December, we’ve been pleasantly surprised at the interest and activity surrounding the program.”
The company has seen a sharp increase in the number of customers trading in their legacy, out-dated equipment in a bid to take advantage of the latest VoIP technologies for their businesses.
This increase, Smith told TMCnet in an interview, is partially due to the economy.
“But the primary driver has been the desire to affordably upgrade to the latest in VoIP technologies,” Smith said.
Through Reclaim, sellers receive fair market value for their equipment - allowing them to receive back a portion of their initial investment in this equipment and provide affordably upgrade to the latest in VoIP technology.
“Companies are definitely seeing the benefits,” Smith said. “One company that sold their legacy equipment through Reclaim was able to save 30 percent on the cost of upgrading to new HD capable handsets.”
