'Crazy Tom' at it Again with Another VoIP Equipment Deal

By Carrie Schmelkin, TMCnet Web Editor

While others may have been preparing for the end of the world a few weeks ago, “Crazy Tom” at VoIP Supply, the fictional character that promotes deals for the VoIP equipment company, was busy promoting the latest VoIP deal.

The most recent deal at VoIP Supply is that if you buy four Yealink (News - Alert) phones, you get one of the following Yealinks phones for free: Yealink SIP-T38G, Yealink SIP-T28P or Yealink SIP-T26P. In addition, if you buy eight Yealink phones you can get two of the following Yealink phones for free: Yealink SIP-T22P, Yealink SIP-T20P or Yealink SIP-T20P.

The deal may be out but it came with an apology on the side from Crazy Tom for being a bit late.

“I don't know about you, but I have been trying to use the Rapture as an excuse for not having a lot of things done this week,” he explains on his promotion page. “For the most part, it has been very unsuccessful. Chickens still need to be fed and bosses still want you to show up for work on time, Rapture or no Rapture. With that said. . . My apologies for not having this week’s deal out on time, but unlike the Rapture, here it is.”

The SIP-T38G, for example, is the newest phone from Yealink and it boasts two features that really separate the T38G from other Yealink phones: it 4.3in color LCD display and dual-port Gigabit Ethernet. The T386 is also a six-line phone and supports XML, PoE and HD Voice.

The SIP-T22P, available if you buy eight Yealink phones, is a POE enabled advanced SIP phone featuring three SIP lines and HD voice hardware and software support. The T22P features an intuitive user interface and enhanced functionality which make it easy for people to interact and maximize productivity, according to VoIP Supply.

In other VoIP Equipment news, VoIP Supply recently announced the addition of Ruckus Wireless products that specialize in Wi-Fi for both enterprise and service provider markets.

For those that experience frustration over routing Wi-Fi signals – which can be unreliable due to interference and obstacles – Ruckus Wireless has developed “Smart Wi-Fi” to combat those barriers to a secure wireless network and restore faith in what companies love about Wi-Fi, according to company officials.

“VoIP Supply is excited to offer revolutionary Wi-Fi products from a manufacturer with such an impressive track record,” VoIP Supply’s Chief Marketing Officer Garrett Smith (News - Alert) (News - Alert) said in a statement. “Today’s Wi-Fi systems face increasing levels of interference and obstacles. Ruckus delivers the unthinkable - Reliability, range and speed by automatically adapting to the surrounding environment.”
