Government Sector Deploying VoIP More than Others: Study
By Stefania Viscusi, Assignment Desk Editor
While the benefits offered by switching to VoIP have become apparent in today’s business world, a new study has found that the government sector is deploying the technology most.
According to the latest research report from In-Stat (News - Alert), “Business VoIP Overview by Vertical Industry,” 48 percent of survey respondents said they have deployed VoIP in at least one location.
Norm Bogen, In-Stat research vice president said that scalable features and capabilites are most important to the government sector while the education sector values cost savings more.
Bogen also noted that, “overall, integration is more critical than cost savings.”
Of those government institutions deploying VoIP, most surveyed respondents noted Verizon (News - Alert) as being their IP Telephony provider.
The study also found AT&T to hold a top position for providing IP Centrex solutions across businesses and Cisco (News - Alert) as a leader in the IP-PBX market- especially for the education sector.
