Phybridge Delivers Sustainable IP Telephony with VoIP Enabler for Habersham County

By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Migrating to IP telephony promises to deliver significant benefits for the business or organization, but taking that first step can be a challenge. Even when integration is possible between cloud applications and the legacy PBX (News - Alert), converging the two environments can be pricey and not without its risks.

For those who want to truly optimize on their current investments while also leveraging the potential in IP telephony, a VoIP enabler can deliver significant value. Northeast Georgia-based Habersham County was seeking to make such a migration and turned to Phybridge (News - Alert) for a little help. The company offered its UniPhyer VoIP enabler to ease the process and significantly reduce the cost.

A number of providers can help organizations like Habersham County complete the migration to IP telephony, yet Phybridge is the only provider to have designed data network switches to deliver Ethernet and Power over Ethernet on a single pair of telephony grade wire. In addition, these switches offer four times the reach of traditional data switches, optimizing the communication environment for the resulting client.

Customers rely on the VoIP enabler technology from Phybridge to leverage existing voice infrastructure and create a separate network path to support voice communications. This approach complements the existing data network and allows data and voice communications to use separate paths for travel before they converge at a single point.

Other network switches available on the market require the convergence of voice and data at multiple locations throughout the organization. This limits the potential in the network infrastructure and ultimately costs more to implement and support.

With the Phybridge approach to VoIP enabler technology, the customer’s IT infrastructure is optimized for data and voice convergence. In its design, Phybridge set out to protect support for existing and future real-time voice requirements, while also delivering a robust platform to support the level of voice quality customers have come to expect.

"The customer is very satisfied overall, and pleased with their selection of Phybridge data switches,” said Scott Bunchman, Senior Account Executive with StormWood Technologies. “Moreover, my engineers were very pleased with how simple it was to install and configure your product, which makes me comfortable recommending it in the future!"

In a nutshell, the UniPhyer VoIP enabler offers lower overall cost, eliminates the financial risk, delivers a secure and separate voice path, offers a repeatable and predictable deployment, ensures a scalable solution, with Quality of Service optimized through a dedicated point-to-point topology.

The drive to the converged environment is not likely to stop anytime soon. Companies that leverage the UniPhyer VoIP enabler can enjoy a lower cost approach that will sustain their traffic and performance demands over time.
