Aculab's Prosody X Chosen to Build New IVR Platform

By Stefania Viscusi, Assignment Desk Editor

Recently, technology solution provider D-CAT Technologies was approached by Unimobil to build an IVR platform that met the company’s needs at the core of its IVR-based mobile services.

The platform needed to be easy to develop and deploy as well as reliable and scalable, while offering real-time performance.

After looking for a solution that met these needs for the company and that stayed within their budget, D-CAT realized there was no packaged hardware or software that could deliver what they were looking for.

After research, the company made the decision to build the solution using Aculab’s Prosody X media processing boards.

Aculab’s (News - Alert) Prosody X media processing boards are designed for media processing in IP, TDM, or mixed IP/TDM-based networks for developers, integrators and telecommunications equipment manufacturers to be implemented in communications solutions from small to large enterprises.

The company was particularly fond of Aculab's enabling technologies which, in the end, helped them to launch the Unicat IVR platform with a 480-port capacity, based on Prosody X PCI boards and IBM (News - Alert) servers, a customer case study of the implementation notes.

“We are delighted at the success D-CAT has achieved with its Unicat Mobile Service Infrastructure. It is yet another highlight to reinforce the legend of Prosody X,” said Ian Colville (News - Alert), SS7 Product Manager at Aculab.

“With its distributed architecture and integrates, resilient SS7 stack, it provides tremendous value and delivers both performance and business benefits to solution providers like D-CAT.”

Aculab’s APIs were also beneficial to D-CAT as it offers the company future proof migration possibilities and helps to leave system resources free for other IVR processes like transferring data to other systems and for reporting. Speech operations are handled on the Prosody X board to free up the system to handle these functionalities.

Ali Yildirim, Managing Partner and Technology Director at D-CAT, said, “Integrating with and building our software on Prosody X with SS7, and getting quality support from Aculab’s support team, dramatically increased out efficiency and sped up the development phase of out IVR platform.”

“Together with Aculab’s proven hardware infrastructure, Unicat IVR’s easy service description language, robust core service processes and flexible business intelligence platform make it a valuable addition to the telco market.”
