Watching the evolution of a traditionally SMB-oriented call recording manufacturer move to one of enterprise-level, government-sanctioned status is a unique experience. I publicly recommend it. Of course, in order to witness such a transformation, you’d have to know the folks at SIP Print (News - Alert).
SIP Print is no longer the niche call recording manufacturer it once was. No, indeed, it has grown remarkably over the last several months to enter the rather competitive arena of the call recording big wigs. And, to top it off, it has just officially been awarded its General Services Agreement (GSA (News - Alert) ) contract enabling it to do business with the United States government.
All federal agencies, in addition to state and local that use the GSA schedule will be able to see SIP Print’s listing for government-approved SIP-based call recording technology.
Don Palmer (News - Alert), CEO of SIP Print, told me that SIP Print’s technology will now be listed in the government’s pricing catalogues. Naturally, this development opens many doors for the company.
CTO Jonathan Fuld specified that “We now have a contract with the U.S. government to provide SIP call recording, SIP Care, Call Accounting, and ACD reporting.” He described the uniqueness of such an approval as compared to what other manufacturers do which is “piggyback” on other companies that have GSA numbers.
Fuld said that the number is “hard to get, long, and laborious, but we’ve got it, and we’re now open for business.” Such an accomplishment no doubt relished by Palmer and Fuld as the contract has been in the works since early 2011.
Enabling SIP Print to bring its SIP-based call recording technology to the government level provides the company innumerable opportunities to supply federal agencies with much-needed monitoring and quality assurance standards. With GSA number GS-35F-0172Y, SIP Print now begins the project of finding government organizations that need SIP call recording.
This move also signifies a trend in the call recording space that Palmer mentioned is still developing, “We think that the technology that we’ve always believed in on the commercial side… is not just commercial…SIP is the inevitable technology that everybody is going to be using.”
As many government sectors have already begun the transferring of processes to SIP-based solutions, SIP Print certainly has its work cut out for it.
Stay tuned as SIP Print makes headway into the government sector with its latest contract and developments to come!
