The new SMB wireless business solution gives users the ability to have in-building wireless communications without the need for a base station. The wireless phones are compatible with Toshiba's (News - Alert) IPedge and Strata CIX business telephone systems and work with SpectraLink 8400 wireless telephones.
"Toshiba's SMB wireless business solution gives SMB's the option of wireless, in-building mobility, which helps improve productivity and responsiveness for on-site mobile professionals across a wide range of industries, including health care, retail, manufacturing and hospitality," said Mark Carpenter, vice president of technology and product management for Toshiba America Information Systems, Telecommunication Systems Division, in a statement.
The solution is available through Toshiba's Authorized Dealer Network nationwide.
The bundle combines Polycom SpectraLink 8400 wireless telephones with Toshiba's IPedge and Strata CIX business telephone systems. The solution is available in two models, Polycom SpectraLink 8440 and Polycom SpectraLink 8450.
IPedge is the unified communications solution combining features such as call processing, voice mail and unified messaging, meet-me conferencing with Web collaboration, native Session Initiation Protocol (News - Alert) line and SIP trunk support and more on a single Linux server, helping VoIP call centers to increase productivity while simultaneously reducing costs.
The UC solution also provides networking ability with other IPedge and Strata CIX systems, as well as centralized administration and telephone endpoints. Add-on applications such as the uMobility Fixed Mobile Convergence (News - Alert) (FMC) solution are available with additional servers.
