It’s that time of year again! The All About The API event, collocated with ITEXPO at the Greater Ft. Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., from Feb. 8-10, is off to a great start, and hoards of people are coming by to listen to some of the top IT leaders speak about hot topics in tech today. One such event that seems to be drawing quite a bit of attention is the panel, titled “Common Mistakes to Avoid when Building your API,” taking place on Feb. 9 at 1 p.m. EST.

One participant in the panel will be Doug Waller, Product Owner at Flowroute. The panel will also feature a representative from APImatic and Kevin Nethercott (News - Alert) from Telestax. The panel is sure to be insightful for those looking to fine-tune their API knowledge, as it will discuss examples of failed APIs, why they didn’t work, and what could have been done differently to make them more successful.

As a product owner at Flowroute, Waller is more than qualified to be speaking on the subject of APIs. Flowroute is a provider of cloud-based communications, and gives developers and enterprises carrier-quality services along with the ability to add voice and messaging capabilities into their apps and services to create unique user experiences.

Ahead of ITEXPO (News - Alert), Waller provided some insight into why attending this panel will be useful to those interested by saying, “APIs now, more than ever, are revolutionizing the way companies are building and integrating communications into their applications,” said Waller. “It’s exciting to be a part of this panel of cutting edge API developers to discuss the best approaches to building, launching, and maintaining new APIs. This is especially important considering how the massive growth of the API economy has brought tremendous competition to this space. Having a great API offering can be the difference between gaining and retaining high-value customers or losing them to a competitor with a better API.”

If you’re interested in hearing more from Waller, head down to All About The API this week and stop by the “Common Mistakes to Avoid when Building your API” panel on Feb. 9 at 1 p.m. EST.
