Comverse Empowers Kyivstar's Wireless Subscribers

By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Kyivstar, a mobile operator in Ukraine with more than 23 million subscribers, has successfully launched two services, 'Who Called' and 'Notify Me', from the Comverse (News - Alert) Total Call Completion Suite.

Comverse expects the new tools provided by these services to the called and calling parties to significantly increase the call completion rate in the network.

Alexey Kireev, head of the Product Development Department at Kyivstar explained in a statement that they launched these Comverse Total Call Completion Suite services because every call is important to them and they want their users to consistently benefit from the best experience possible.

Kireev added that both parties receive key information about missed calls that empower them with new capabilities which lead to the call’s completion. This improvement of service is one of the ways that Kyivstar enriches people’s everyday lives by enabling them to communicate more freely and more effectively.

Kyivstar’s Comverse Total Call Completion Suite includes Who Called, which delivers information about missed calls that the handset does not, such as when the handset is off, out of battery or out of service range, and ensures the called party never misses the opportunity to know about all calls missed while unreachable.

The second service, Notify Me, provides a better customer experience for the caller by sending an SMS the moment that the person they are trying to call becomes reachable. This makes it so the caller doesn’t have to redial repeatedly until the call goes through, and is now assured of the ability to connect with the desired party at the soonest possible moment, with just a single click.

Benny Einhorn, president of Comverse EMEA observed that Comverse Call Completion services increases customer satisfaction and creates a coherent call flow that can help to monetize every call attempt.

Einhorn said that voice revenues typically account for approximately 80 percent of operator income, and due to the vast scale involved with a Tier-1 operator like Kyivstar, increases in voice usage and call completion can yield a significant increase in revenues.

According to Comverse, this marks the largest European deployment to date of the Comverse Notify Me solution for callers. Comverse Total Call Completion Suite’s next-generation platform is based on the Comverse InSight Open Services Environment.

Recently Bahamas Telecommunications Company (BTC), a telecommunications service provider in the Bahamas, deployed the Comverse InSight Open Service Environment in addition to several other services, expanding the offering for their fixed network subscribers.
