Next generation network (NGN) voice and video solutions developer Netcentrex released their Q1 VoIP shipment report, citing a 28 percent growth from Q4 2005 and 109 percent increase compared to same quarter in Q1 2005.
Netcentrex had an installed base of 2,960,000 Class 5 VoIP lines in commercial service at the end of Q1, not including the billions of minutes of use from 2 of the 3 biggest Class 4/VPN service providers in the world. Netcentrex reached their 3 million line mark in April and continues to ship approximately 5,000 lines per day, including weekends.
"These numbers bear out what key analysts in the market, and customers themselves, have to come to recognize in Netcentrex... and that is market leadership for VoIP Application Servers," said Brian Mahony, VP of Marketing, Netcentrex, Inc. in a statement to TMCnet.
Earlier in April, iLocus recognized Netcentrex as the market leader for VoIP application servers, reporting Netcentrex’s 2005 shipments accounted for 1.2 million lines of the total 3.7 million lines shipped in the Independent Subscriber Feature Server category.
