DIGITALK, an independent vendor of communications solutions to a broad range of customers worldwide, including calling card operators, IP telephony and wholesale service providers, and MVNOs has been selected by Acmetel as its preferred platform provider for its international wholesale and retail services.

Acmetel, a privately owned U.A.E-based next generation voice carrier operator, has deployed the DIGITALK (News - Alert) SBC VoIP Peering application, based on the DIGITALK Session Border Controller, to strengthen and grow its international wholesale business as part of an expansion strategy.

"We've worked hard to achieve rapid growth, and already operate on 2 million minutes per day business volume since starting up in 2008. We've achieved this by being resolute to our mission to provide the very best service, in quality and reliability,” said Baleegh Afridi, CEO of Acmetel in a statement.

“We felt that in a move to our own infrastructure the DIGITALK platform offered the best fit with our services from the advanced capabilities to ensure we operate a lean business, and their commitment and ongoing support as we grow expand on our success," said Afridi.

Acmetel said that as it has outgrown optimum capacity on it retail hosted partition, so is moving the prepaid services to the DIGITALK Multiservice Platform, with the additional benefit of consolidating all management and support to one provider.

Officials with DIGITALK said that Acmetel selected DIGITALK on its ability to deliver a full suite of fully integrated operations and business management functionality, and specifically to broaden the rating options for its wholesale customers.

DIGITALK application would also help Acmetel to overcome the dependency on cumbersome hardware upgrades to achieve capacity and feature expansion.

Company officials said that the DIGITALK SBC VoIP Peering (News - Alert) application offers a range of advanced routing options, which allows operators to manage routes based on cost, quality and margin, ensuring traffic is routed without loss or within a minimum profit threshold.

TMCnet recently reported that Annecto, which offers retail, wholesale and mobile traffic solutions, has selected communications solutions provider DIGITALK as its new least cost routing platform provider for wholesale services.

The company has selected DIGITALK’s Session Border Controller (SBC) VoIP Peering application, which is a highly scalable and robust, end-to-end solution for international Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) wholesale services.
