In a sign of the rising importance of hosted billing solutions, CoroWare Technologies this week announced availability of CoroWare Billing Integration Framework for MetraTech and Vidyo, a software solution that integrates usage and subscription-based billing from MetraTech (News - Alert) Corp and high definition videoconferencing systems from Vidyo.
Officials with CoroWare said that the Billing Integration Framework for MetraTech and Vidyo (News - Alert) combines MetraTech's highly scalable MetraNet usage-based billing systems with Vidyo's high definition videoconferencing platform.
Company officials described the solution as an affordable and effective way for service providers to effectively monetize their videoconferencing services as they evolve to meet the demands of rapidly changing business models, pricing plans, and customer requirements.
"Service providers must innovate their business models and flexibly respond to their customers' changing needs without being limited by their billing system," said Mark Dudman, executive vice president of MetraTech Corp.
Dudman said that CoroWare's solution facilitates that growth by helping service providers add videoconferencing to their range of profitable services.
According to company officials, CoroWare Billing Integration Framework for MetraTech and Vidyo, which is built upon Microsoft's (News - Alert) SQL Server 2008 platform, processes videoconferencing call detail records including the number of Vidyo rooms, ports, users, and session minutes, and it conveys the processed usage data to a MetraTech billing platform.
Service providers may then customize billing rules, reports and payment details, effectively lowering operational costs when compared to traditional billing systems.
It's a rising need among not only SPs but also start-up telcos, VoIP wholesalers, call shop operators and call back resellers. Companies such as Telinta offer a hosted private-label platform is a complete turnkey VoIP switch partition and hosted billing solution for all of those groups.
"CoroWare's billing integration solution further extends Vidyo's powerful videoconferencing platform for service providers," said Marty Hollander, senior vice president of marketing at Vidyo.
Hollander said that CoroWare's solutions offer enterprise and service provider customers' greater visibility into their videoconferencing usage, thereby helping them plan for future growth.
"Combined with the Vidyo and MetraTech platforms, CoroWare's solution can help service provider customers deploy an affordable, flexible and powerful solution for generating videoconferencing revenues," said Lloyd Spencer, president and CEO of CoroWare.
Spencer said that CoroWare's recent telepresence solution offering further expands CoroWare's range of products and services that help customers affordably deploy high definition videoconferencing solutions worldwide.
