Intervoice Brings Speech Technologies Deeper into Asia Pacific

Speech technologies provider Intervoice (News - Alert) is expanding its Asia Pacific operations and opening a new office in Shenzhen, China. This move will help them to further deliver their speech technologies in the APAC region and in the China market.


Commenting on the importance of the APAC market in the companies future growth, Frank Sherlock, SVP and Managing Director, Intervoice said, "While we continue to experience great success in the APAC market, this region has tremendous potential for both our service provider and enterprise businesses. China is the right location for us to capitalize on regional growth. It is important that we not only have a strong presence in the area but we also have a strong leader."
 
 
Intervoice also announced Ben Hart as Managing Director for its APAC region to oversee direct and channel sales as well as partner development in the region. In addition to experience in international sales and business development, Hart also worked in China for almost 10 years.
 
"Opening our facility in Shenzhen and bringing Ben on board to lead sales efforts are the right decisions that will allow us to accelerate our position in Asia Pacific generally and the China market specifically," said Sherlock.

According to Intervoice, the company partnered with a number of local and regional sales and distribution leaders in the area to increase their presence and as a result now support customers across a variety of industries in the region.
 
Intervoice's partners in the region include ITA (News - Alert), Alliance Digital, E@ble, ITApps and Shenzhen-based network equipment provider, Huawei and offer support for banking, insurance, logistics, manufacturing, telecommunications and the public sector.

"Intervoice has a solid portfolio of IMS-proven call completion and subscriber self-service solutions that is already supported by a strong partner ecosystem. I'm excited to join a team that is so very well positioned to take advantage of the huge mobile subscriber base, both in China and throughout the region," said Hart.
 
Back in February, the company announced it won a contract with a leading mobile service provider in APAC. As per the contract, the service provider will migrate its network to Intervoice Media Exchange as well as add new payment features and expand its SMS capacity.
