O2 UK Extends Their Relationship with Intervoice

Pleased with the services provided by Intervoice's Messaging Gateway Platform, UK mobile services provider O2 UK,  announced today the signing of a two-year managed service contract extension (June 1, 2006 – May 31, 2008) that allows for continued use of the Intervoice (News - Alert) platform.
 
"With customer loyalty at stake, we need the confidence that the technology behind our messaging services is robust enough to handle high volumes of traffic whilst ensuring an optimum user experience" commented Andrew Tobin, head of messaging, at O2 UK in a statement to the press.
 
Intervoice's Messaging Gateway solution allows O2 UK to provide enhanced roaming and self provisioning services that give customers the choice to select services when they seek them, while also freeing up calls to the contact center-- for improved customer satisfaction.
 
According to a recent news release, "The Intervoice Messaging Gateway is a flexible, open-standards based solution, supporting a number of VoiceXML applications and network protocols that are fully integrated into the O2 network." 
 
Enhanced roaming capabilities are also provided to voicemail customers who are given the ability to choose a special number that allows them to access voicemail messages even if they roam into another country.
 
In addition, the press release noted that "the flexibility of the Intervoice Messaging Gateway will allow O2 UK to ensure the rapid deployment of Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) and Joint Venture (JV) services without them having to make an additional investment in their own infrastructure."
