Not only has speech technology provider Loquendo proven its ability to consistently improve and support speech solutions across the globe by introducing new voices, languages and versions of its speech solutions, but the company is also now helping those with an interest in the field to better learn about the technology with an announcement that it is sponsoring Masters and PhD Speech Studies for Spain's National Research Council (CSIC).

 

The courses of study supported by Loquendo (News - Alert) have been organized by the CSIC Speech Lab and will provide students with a number activities to take part in throughout the duration of the course including a new specialized focus on Phonetics and Phonology, which is not a standard qualification among European Postgraduate studies.

The Postgraduate Course in Speech Studies includes 93 professors from 30 universities, while the Masters in Phonetics and Phonology and the PhD in Speech Studies help students prepare in all speech technology fields.

But our activities stretch even further: we ensure that scientific knowledge is transferred to enterprises and to do this we must train the future generations of researchers. This implies diffusing knowledge and making sure its benefits impact positively on the life of all individuals," said Professor Rafael Rodrigo, Chairman of the Spanish National Research Council.

 

Loquendo is participating as both a speech technology software partner and a financial sponsor. The company currently offers 26 languages and 61 voices.

 

Today, the company also announced the release of its MRCP Server 7.1 for Windows and Linux. The latest version includes: support for a default lexicon; extended functionalities in the Management Console; greatly reduced grammar compilation time on large grammars, and more.
