Loquendo (News - Alert), a global speech technology provider, has just released Loquendo ASR 7.10, supporting speech recognition based on more complex statistical language models and enabling the creation of advanced speech applications including call routing and transcription.

Loquendo’s speaker-independent ASR comes with various acoustic models specialized for different application fields. The company’s software is also available in compact versions for embedded devices.

The Loquendo ASR accurately and rapidly recognizes more linguistically complex utterances, increases efficiency when applied to language models using bigrams and trigrams, and grammar can be modularized into a fixed part with hundreds of thousands of words that are infrequently modified, and a dynamic part containing new entries.

When a new grammar is created, it can reference a secondary and pre-compiled grammar which the system then loads dynamically. A large grammar containing thousands of names can be loaded rapidly at runtime; offline, and the grammar can then be modified or completely recompiled as and when required, without having to modify the primary grammar.

ASR 7.10’s new grammar feature results in fast, accurate speech recognition which offers application developers a new level of flexibility. It is useful for grammars containing lists of company personnel or stocks and shares. It can be adopted in command and control scenarios, such as enabling voice-controlled media players to handle recently uploaded tracks.
