Tadiran Telecom, a telecommunications solution provider, has launched Coral SeaBeam, a new voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) softphone that enables official communications to users on the move.
Coral SeaBeam, a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)-enabled softphone, integrates Tadiran’s (News - Alert) Coral IPx/FlexiCom and the Coral Sea Softswitch technology. Running on Microsoft Windows, the software functions as a terminal on both Coral IPx and FlexiCom systems, as well as on Coral Sea Softswitch systems.
Coral IPx communications systems function as VoIP telephony servers, traditional switches, or both, according to Tadiran. It combines feature-rich IP technology with traditional time division multiplexing (TDM) telephony.
Coral FlexiCom communications servers are available in two models: Coral FlexiCom 5000 and Coral FlexiCom 6000. Both systems run on the same software that powers Coral IPx systems. Coral FlexiCom servers target larger configurations.
Coral Sea Softswitch is the latest pure-IP solution from Tadiran. With a single point of communications, Sea Softswitch platform joins geographically dispersed satellite offices.
Coral SeaBeam runs from user’s desktop. It provides essential office communications services, including four-party video conferencing, six-party audio conferencing, presence (available with Coral Sea Softswitch), on-demand call recording, Microsoft (News - Alert) Outlook integration, and multiple accounts per user.
Apart from offering basic communication facilities, Coral SeaBeam allows users to activate a variety of other telephony features from the computer. Coral SeaBeam features a user-friendly interface, which includes an LCD-like display panel and a message-waiting indicator (MWI). The call display feature provides with constant feedback, including call details and icons for ignoring calls, forwarding calls to voicemail and adding callers to contacts list.
Coral SeaBeam supports open SIP standards for both voice and video over IP and provides a flexible communication options to users. According to Tadiran, Coral SeaBeam saves IP telephony costs for office communications.
