Social Communications Leader Extends Cloud-Based Platform

By Carrie Schmelkin, TMCnet Web Editor

IPgallery (News - Alert) is taking the cloud to the next level as the leader in converged service creation announced today that it will be extending its cloud-based, Web activated social communications and IPTV platform as an application inside of social networking sites, like Facebook (News - Alert), for MSO's to deliver IP Based Value Added Services (VAS) across any environment.

IPgallery's enhanced "Click to Anything" Facebook application boasts services that help customers and friends enjoy personalized experiences of calling, chatting, watching, sharing, and transferring multi-media content while consumers are active inside of Facebook.

"The new connected TV's, smartphones, and tablets expose the MSOs to new challenges, with OTT's offering IP based low cost alternatives, causing existing consumers to give up their current subscriptions and younger generation to not even consider it," said Avihai Degani (News - Alert), CEO of IPgallery, in a statement. "We have now enabled the MSO's to deliver cloud based, web activated IP services that work alongside their current digital TV deployments, for an enhanced viewing and communication experience across any network and any device, creating new revenue streams from both current and non-subscribers, while reducing CapEx and OpEx."

IPgallery’s new era of social communications helps: turn MSO’s current customer base into their own personalized sales force; expand MSO’s current contact database and users by magnitudes; bring simplified communications to MSO’s customers; leverage social communications for increased watching and sharing service experience; enhance capability to find and communicate with friends and family, across any social networking site and from any broadband device; and personalize EPG to manage broadcast channels, user generated content, and video on demand services, with full PVR capabilities and blended voice and chatting capabilities.

MSOs will be shown how they can expand their customer reach with this new offering when IPgallery demonstrates its solution at the Cable Show from June 14- 16, in Chicago, Ill. IPgallery is participating in CableNET 2011 to teach MSOs how to expand customer reach with growth revenue opportunities.  The demonstration will highlight how to establish branded communications and entertainment environment for the consumers to take control how they talk, chat, watch, share and transfer multi-media communications in any environment, according to company officials.

"In the era of Social Networks, consumers are looking for communication simplicity, along with the flexibility to access content and value added services anywhere," said David Spear, executive vice president of marketing and sales at IPgallery, said.  "Our unique Social Communication's platform, now enables the MSO's to reach beyond their current boundaries, providing the same communication and entertainment experience to consumers no matter what environment they're in, turning 'over the top' threats into opportunities and reduced churn."
