The users of Skype (News - Alert), who have grown accustomed to making inexpensive calls all over the world, will now be treated to another special offer from the company. According to online reports, Skype has launched a new way for users to phone a friend anywhere in the world from their mobile phone at discounted rates.
According to the report, Skype Pro customers can enjoy the new Skype To Go service. All they have to do is to give the international number of their friends and family who they want to call and Skype will give a local phone number to the Skype Pro users. Bills will be charged at the local phone call rates while the Skype customer makes international calls.
The Skype Pro users will receive this service (the Skype To Go number) at no additional cost. The calls can be made from their mobiles, making the whole process of international calling very easy and very cheap.
According to Stefan Oberg, vice-president and general manager of telecoms at Skype, millions of people are already making inexpensive international calls from their computers. With the introduction of this new service from Skype, calling friends and family in the other countries has been easy and sophisticated. It also lets users use Skype even when they are away from the computers.
Skype plans to expand its ecosystem of more than 50 hardware partners and more than 190 Skype Certified devices to broaden this facility.
