Dialogic Corp., a provider of products and technologies for media and signal processing, has announced that Dialogic Brooktrout (News - Alert) SR140 Fax Software can send industry standard V.34 – Super G3 Fax – traffic using ITU-T recommendation T.38 via the Cisco 2821 Integrated Services Router.
With V.34 standard, users can send and receive faxes at twice the speed of other devices that only support V.17. Company officials said that Brooktrout SR140 provides fax over Internet protocol (FoIP) capabilities for integrating fax servers and fax document management solutions with voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) networks.
SR140 can be deployed in SIP, H.323, and MGCP environments. Company officials said that it’s ideal for a variety of network-based fax applications, enabling integration with document management and business process automation systems to support compliance with regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, and Basel II.
“The adoption of fax applications and services running FoIP protocols has been accelerating in recent years, and the availability of end-to-end V.34 transmission speed serves to strengthen FoIP adoption,” said Franz-Josef Eberle, general manager and vice president of the Enterprise Market Group at Dialogic (News - Alert).
Eberle said that while Dialogic introduced FoIP server and gateway technology supporting V.34 speed in 2008, the addition of V.34 interoperability with the widely used Cisco (News - Alert) 2821 ISR gives the FoIP server market another boost.
The interoperability with IP-PBXs, IP media gateways and SIP trunking service providers is considered critical for the successful deployment of FoIP solutions.
Dialogic has a well-developed program to help IP system and service providers certify interoperability with SR140. In addition, the company also delivers support and configuration guides to help fax server solution providers deploy successfully with IP systems and services.
Earlier this month, the company introduced its inCloud9 network, a free, cloud-based developer network designed to make it easier and more efficient for developers to test Dialogic products while building new applications.
