Genius Inside to Unveil New Versions of IT Software

In a sign of the rising importance of customer-friendly products such as service desk software, Genius Inside announced today that it's planning to showcase new versions of its Genius Project software, which is designed IT department's cut time from development projects and support internal help desks. The company develops project management software that improves project selection, planning, staffing, execution and tracking.
Officials with Genius (News - Alert) Inside said that their company will demonstrate new versions of its Genius Project solutions that include upgrades to help IT groups increase their productivity, at an industry event that runs through Wednesday.
According to company officials, prominent among the upgrades are support for the Agile (News - Alert) and SCRUM development methodologies and new help desk management features for resolving issues more quickly.
The new versions of Genius Project will also include an easy-to-use 'Project Wizard' to walk first-time users through the project creation process.
'IT organizations are one of the heaviest users of project management software,' said Christophe Borlat, managing director sales and marketing at Genius Inside (News - Alert).
Borlat said that general project management functionality has applied very well to IT issues, but the company wanted to go a step further and develop features for specifically addressing tasks that are unique to IT.
Company officials added that new Agile and SCRUM features will include tracking use cases, sprint, definition, reviews and performance. Genius Inside will also demonstrate Gantt chart enhancements that provide managers with a consolidated view of all projects and the ability to link between main project activities and sub-project activities.
Last month, International specialty glass maker Schott AG announced that it selected Genius Inside's Genius Project software as its primary management tool for rolling out enterprise resource planning applications to 4,500 users all over the world.
Schott, a $3 billion manufacturer of precision and industrial-strength glass, selected Genius Inside as the project management platform for its SAP (News - Alert) Service and Demand Management applications rollout project after a three-month search that included a long list of requirements.
Among the requirements were integrated workflows; customizable interfaces; data security and integrity; compliance management; integration with daily business processes; and localization capabilities.
