Spring is definitely in the air as individuals are busy looking to replace their outdated wardrobes with the latest spring attire, companies are considering whether they should give their employees summer hours and tech companies are hoping that they can embark down the path of partnership boom.
Feeling a little springy this week, TMW Systems, a supplier of technology solutions covering the transportation services sector, decided to tap cloud communications company 8x8 (News - Alert) for its cloud-based hosted PBX and unified communications services so it could provide the services to its 500 plus employees in seven U.S. and Canadian locations.
"TMW's mission is to help our customers serving the transportation industry succeed by providing them with customized technology solutions that enhance their competitiveness through improved operational efficiencies and bottom line results," said Ron Godine, director of IT for TMW. "Ours is a very customer service-focused business that relies heavily on a highly efficient and reliable phone system. Unfortunately, our existing on-premise PBX system didn't always live up to this and utilized a lot of IT resources, so we decided to transition to a hosted solution that offered greater flexibility and freedom while also giving us the redundancy and reliability we needed."
TMW’s enterprise management software was created to help surface transportation providers address mounting concerns over logistics management, fuel efficiency and fleet management. The company, which has offices in Ohio, North Carolina, and Indiana, among other places, serves more than 1,800 customers and manages over 400,000 power units.
For TMW, the decision to team with 8x8 was an easy one. After canvassing the area, TMW determined that 8x8's Virtual Office cloud-based PBX (News - Alert) and unified communications solution was the perfect solution to meet TMW’s challenges of limited flexibility and disaster recovery caused by TMW’s premise-based phone system. After deploying the PBX solution, the initial 425-extension deployment quickly grew to over 500 extensions and soon after, Godine added unified communications capabilities such as web conferencing, Internet fax and call recording, according to company officials.
However, 8x8 is not the only act in town with a stellar PBX offering. In fact, recently HotelFish International, a hospitality and tourism outsourcing venture providing administration, marketing and Web development services to hotels and resorts currently in Greece and Cyprus, sat down with TMCnet to discuss what made it first cast its eyes on Sonetel, a provider of a free, scalable PBX service.
Touted as “the easiest, cheapest and fastest way” to get a telephony solution for your company, Sonetel is in the midst of commemorating its one-year anniversary, having unveiled the first version of its phone system in late 2010. More than a year later, Sonetel has established itself as the only company worldwide offering a free, scalable PBX service, according to company officials.
“I had tried two other providers before I decided that Sonetel was the one I wanted to do business with,” Marios Lambropoulos, founder of the hotel, said. “Apart from its low costs, what really made a difference to me is the customer service. Spontaneous and immediate, it happened exactly when I needed it, there and then, whereas my previous experience was not very promising. The services I received from previous PBX providers were rather slow and non-attentive and the minute I decided to look for something more professional, Sonetel was there to fulfill my expectations.”
