Provider of open source CRM software, SugarCRM has announced that it has been honored with the 2010 InfoWorld Best of Open Source (News - Alert) (Bossie) Award in the best open source applications category. The InfoWorld Bossie Awards honor the best business-oriented open source software products.
“The Bossie 2010 award winners are our top picks among open source projects for many different reasons. Some are longtime favorites, and others are completely new. Some are fast ways to fulfill a familiar need, while others allow companies to do things that weren't possible or affordable until they came along,” said Doug Dineley, executive editor, Test Center, InfoWorld. “The one quality they all share is extreme usefulness, and a combination of features that beats all others in their class.”
Businesses have been leveraging SugarCRM’s (News - Alert) open source model to overcome the limitations of proprietary software. SugarCRM’s open source model provides customers full access to the software’s source code and offer complete flexibility via unlimited customization and integration capabilities. SugarCRM’s deployment includes options such as vendor hosted-SaaS (News - Alert) supplied by SugarCRM and cloud-based delivery options powered by the Sugar Open Cloud ecosystem.
“At SugarCRM we are passionate about giving our customers the control that open source can provide, and so we are honored to be recognized by InfoWorld as a Bossie Award winner,” said Larry Augustin, chief executive officer of SugarCRM. “Open source is at the heart of SugarCRM’s business, and it is nice to receive accolades for our efforts.”
SugarCRM applications have been downloaded more than seven million times and currently serve over 600,000 end users in 80 languages. In a recent article, TMCnet reported that SugarCRM has introduced Sugar 6, which the company claims is the most intuitive, flexible and open CRM on the planet.
