ONPATH Technologies, a provider of scalable connectivity and network monitoring solutions for high performance networks, has introduced its new HorizON Software, formerly branded as UCMS.
HorizON provides remote control for high-performance connectivity and monitoring in conjunction with the UCS 2900 and 3900 products. Company officials said that it adds a level of network intelligence, user simplicity, and system security unmatched in the industry.
For instantaneous network monitoring, path re-configuration, connectivity and troubleshooting for over 100,000 ports, HorizON software provides a new level of intelligence, visibility, and interactive network control.
Company officials said that HorizON enables multiple applications, multiple speeds, and multiple protocols ranging from legacy WAN to today’s 100G and beyond. And, with HorizON Software’s connection manager, users can automate or schedule connectivity tasks from network reconfiguration to passive monitor attachment.
The HorizON control system includes a graphical dashboard. Company officials said that this provides users with easy navigation between systems, clear presentation of system configuration and capacity, simple drill-down from the system to the port level, and obvious alarm tracking, reporting, troubleshooting, and activity scheduling.
Moreover, the HorizON graphical topology manager abstracts the physical layer as well as allows simple drag and drop connections or test access monitoring between devices for fast, guaranteed connectivity.
A Linux-based server software solution with a Web-based thin client application, HorizON provides management of the family of UCS 2900 and 3900 switches from virtually any location, said company officials.
HorizON software is available as an individual or redundant external server -- or embedded server in the 3900 Series. Thanks to authentication, authorization, and accounting capabilities, HorizON aligns with the corporate infrastructure policies. Plus, it provides secure remote CLI and GUI access with proper role-based control and auditing for up to 128 concurrent users.
"We have rebranded our new software from UCMS to HorizON because of the incredible visibility it offers our customers and the exciting perspective we have for the future," said Brian McCann, CEO at ONPATH.
McCann said that the HorizON 2.0 release includes many new features for improved automation and security that were specifically requested by the customers using solutions for cloud networking, network monitoring, test labs and cyber security.
Last month, the company announced the appointment of Brian McCann as the company's new CEO.
