Why Mobile Operators Should Embrace the Growing Demand for Mobile VoIP

It really isn’t news to announce that today’s professional is always on the go. One quick glance around the local coffee or sandwich shop and the number of people working on a laptop tend to outnumber those simply enjoying their surroundings. So powerful is this trend that projections suggest 80 percent of online access will be enabled though mobile devices by 2015. To keep costs down as this demand grows, many are turning to mobile VoIP.


Employers can leverage this trend to their benefit with the right tools and policies in place. The enterprise that enables its employees to work anywhere in the world can easily step ahead of the competition. To do so, however, the company has to enable greater connectivity than is currently afforded with traditional mobile networks. Support of mobile VoIP can open up whole new range of opportunities and deliver on that desired seamless experience.

A mobile VoIP solution can enable collaboration on a whole new platform, enabling a team to be agile in the field and gain ubiquitous access to the voice and data solutions necessary to create better business flexibility that the competition lacks. It also helps to increase productivity as employees can work on the go, responding to the needs of the customer and the market and not the enterprise. This not only produces the desired results on the bottom line, it also increases employee satisfaction.

The challenge is that many a business leader believes an elaborate or expensive solution is what is needed to ensure the desired results. Built-in efficiency is expected and using multiple devices that seamlessly communicate is not necessarily business as usual. They are accustomed to challenges and problems with integration. Delivering the opposite and enabling seamless communications produces the results desired for an efficient system to support the increasingly mobile workforce.

For the mobile operators, mobile VoIP was often seen as a threat instead of an opportunity to deliver on problem resolution for subscribers. When customers are given the desired solutions to overcome challenges in mobility, they are likely to be more loyal as the operator becomes an indispensable partner enabling an efficient approach to doing business. Leveraging applications opportunities and white label partnerships will be key to survival in the future.

Mobility is not something that is going away and progressive companies will be searching for efficient solutions that deliver on their mobility needs. Those providers able to meet this demand and continue to innovate on the application front will dominate the market.
