MobileMax Technologies, which provides mobile VoIP and fixed-mobile-convergence applications to the telecommunications industry, recently announced its first order from a carrier in the Pacific.
The news reflects the increased uptake in unified communications worldwide. MobileMax (News - Alert) said that this first order was important, because it was from a leading carrier and the company’s first foothold in the Pacific.
The customer is a “leader provider of mobile, telephony, and Internet services in the region,” according to MobileMax officials. The company, however, did not disclose the details.
Under terms of the agreement, the carrier will purchase software licenses in the Oceania region in the southwest Pacific Ocean for approximately $257,700.
Company officials said MobileMax is expecting another order for software compatibility products and to sign an agreement for the purchase of software licenses and the provision of support services.
The carrier will utilize MobileMax’s solution to launch a unified communications service for its business customers. Subscribers will be able to use their mobile phones to connect to a VoIP switchboard for online enterprise data communications.
Back in May MobileMax announced that its MobileMax Enterprise edition platform has been selected by Verizon (News - Alert) Business to help the company offer its new Verizon Global Fixed Mobile Convergence solution to its enterprise customers, TMCnet reported.
