Amtel Reports Record First-Half 2009 Revenues

By Marisa Torrieri, TMCnet Editor

Hard times has forced many enterprises cut back on services.

But for those that want to make the most of what they have, 2009 has also seen a rise in the number of organizations wanting to adopt new mobile management strategies in the hopes of saving money.

In 2009, Amtel (News - Alert), a provider of telecom management services that help businesses improve productivity, got to know some of these companies, and introduce mobile managers to its “Telecom Information Management System” platform. Better known as TIMS, the platform is used by enterprises to track and control fixed-line spending and also for wireless management.

After months of hard work, it appears the fruits of Amtel’s labors has paid off.

The Santa Clara, Calif.-based company recently reported record revenues for the first half of 2009, in the the six-month period ending June 30. The record growth is due to the strengths of the company’s TIMS software platform for management of landline and mobile expense management, Pankaj “PJ” Gupta, Amtel’s CEO, told TMCnet.

Amtel’s platform allows companies to conduct centralized order management of all types of telecommunication services, such as mobile, pagers, calling cards, conferencing, calling cards, conferencing accounts, voice lines and data circuits. As more of these companies move toward adopting unified communications, there is an increasing concern about the expenses of mobility.

“We are picking up clients from other vendors due to the strength of its platform,” Gupta told TMCnet.

Along with its financial report, Amtel announced new large-scale implementations for its Telecom life cycle management services.

“In this economic environment, our clients are finding that they can save 10 to 40 percent of telecoms cost and their management charges.” Gupta said. “Clients are appreciating the depth and integration of our services delivered using state-of-the-art platform developed by our engineers.”
