Mobile Device Management Solution Provider MobileIron Launches Connected Cloud

By Jamie Epstein, TMCnet Web Editor

MobileIron, headquartered in Mountain View, California and a provider of mobile device management solutions, has just released the MobileIron Connected Cloud, the first mobile device management (MDM) cloud service that can be seamlessly integrated with an existing enterprise security infrastructure.

Through utilization of the Connected Cloud, IT departments can now much more rapidly deploy thousands of smartphones and tablets with no effect on security, and can then distribute the mobile apps through MobileIron’s Enterprise App Storefront.

The MobileIron Connected Cloud is a platform that has already been successfully beta-tested by 11 enterprise companies, including six of the Fortune 1000 companies, a press release revealed.

“Innovation and change is happening more quickly in mobile than in any other area that IT has to manage,” said Bob Tinker, CEO, MobileIron. “With the Connected Cloud, we give enterprises a way to move fast and keep up with mobile technology without sacrificing the connectivity their security requires. In the past, cloud-based MDM systems have been disconnected from enterprise security infrastructure, and the bottom line is that if it’s not connected it’s not secure.”

MobileIron's website states that its enterprise mobility management solutions offer cross-platform management capabilities for IT, as well as an innovative web experience for the end-user. The Connected Cloud can be up and running in less than hour and is cost-effective, as the price is only $4 a month per managed device.
