Triagnosys Introduces Complete Inflight Entertainment and Mobile Communication Solution

By Madhubanti Rudra, TMCnet Contributor

On the heels of its inflight GSM solution, GSMConneX, TriaGnoSys now came up with IFEConneX, a complete inflight entertainment and communication (IFEC) solution.

An expert in mobile communications, information and media, TriaGnoSys has reportedly developed this new solution in collaboration with Siemens (News - Alert) Siemens Communications, Media and Technology (CMT), which is known for its innovative products, turnkey solutions, and services in the fields of communication networks, service and customer management, public security, multi-media infotainment, and aerospace technology.

IFEConneX has been designed to incorporate an entertainment and media distribution system into the TriaGnoSys GSMConneX, which was launched at Aircraft Interiors in April 2011. The initiative is aimed at providing the jet operators with a complete communication and entertainment system in one small box .Developed as lightweight modular system, IFEConneX is capable of providing three services, namely, GSM, WLAN and wireless streaming of IFE content.

In the press release, TriaGnoSys explained that IFEConneX makes the perfect solution for any aircraft without an embedded IFE system, as the solution allows the jet operators to offer a combination of above mentioned services at 30,000 feet. It will enable passengers to use their own mobile phone, tablet or laptop for calls, text messaging, emails, Internet connectivity, and for Audio and Video On Demand (AVOD). The solution has the capacity to stream individual content to up to 100 passengers simultaneously, TriaGnoSys claimed in a press release.

Small size and light weight and easy installation process are the added advantage. The necessary airborne hardware can be easily mounted within the ceiling panel. For external connectivity, it can be connected to the aircraft’s existing communications system.

In a ddition, the solution is flexibile enough to be used over any radio link, including SwiftBroadband, Ku-band, Ka-band and direct air-to-ground links.

“This is highly versatile technology. Passengers can use their own mobile devices for inflight connectivity and to access video and music content, based on an intuitive user interface that makes it very simple to use. The fact it incorporates both IFE content and connectivity makes it possible to provide live updates, for example for news, sport and destination information,” VP of Siemens CMT, Gerald Schreiber explained in a statement.

In the release, TriaGnoSys announced that it is going to display the solution on Booth 829 at the APEX Expo in Seattle from 13-15 September 2011.

TriaGnoSys is the expert in mobile communication, information and media, enabling communications and information transfer to and from air, land and sea.

A few months back, TriaGnoSys along with OnAir (News - Alert) launched the most lightweight and complete turnkey solution for business jets. The company claimed that the solution enabled passengers to use their mobile devices and laptops for calls, text messages, emailing and Internet browsing, as they do on the ground.
