Industry pundit (and all-around-nice-guy) David Duffett is leaving media processing specialist Aculab (News - Alert) to head up the northern European operations of Alliance Systems (News - Alert) EMEA GmbH, the international division of the Plano, Texas-based design and manufacturing company.
In his new role, Duffett (who plans to continue with his “Voice of IP” column written exclusively for TMCnet) will represent Alliance Systems in the U.K., Ireland and Nordic regions. Duffett’s move follows several years at Aculab, the U.K.-based manufacturer of media processing resources and digital network connectivity equipment.
“David brings with him personal enthusiasm, technical expertise and an industry credibility which is bound to benefit both new and existing customers,” said Heinz Schramm, Managing Director of Alliance Systems EMEA, based in Bad Homburg.
Alliance Systems designs, manufactures and supports high specification servers and computing solutions for the communications industry. The company represents Intel’s single-largest distribution channel by volume for systems based on the AdvancedTCA (News - Alert) (ATCA) specification. In addition to being a member of the Intel Communications Alliance, it is a key strategic partner to Microsoft, Cisco Systems (News - Alert) and Hewlett-Packard (News - Alert).
