Telecom Brokerage (News - Alert), Inc. is a major master agent that is known for selling telecommunication services for its service carriers, as well as managing partners who sell these carriers products. One of the master agent’s providers, Time Warner Cable (TWC), has just let the world in on a little secret—it will be bringing streaming television functionality to Android (News - Alert) devices by springtime.

Just last week, TWC unveiled a beta version of the streaming video service, named TWC TV, which will raise the level of entertainment accessibility by allowing subscribers to watch videos while sitting in front of their computers. On the following day, the master agent provider then stated that with its “Ice Cream Sandwich" update, Android devices will also soon be offer that ability to users, according to a recent PCMAG.com piece.

"We are working on bringing streaming TV to Android devices with ICS. Should be ready by end of March/Q1," Jeff Simmermon, director of digital communication for Time Warner Cable said via Twitter (News - Alert). "That date is VERY loose, though."

2011 was a busy year of innovations for TWC. It marked the year when the company first debuted a TWC TV app for Android phones and tablets, however it didn’t offer live TV. Then in January, the cable provider joined hands with Samsung (News - Alert) at the Consumer Electronics Show in order to develop an app that allows TWC customers to stream video to the Samsung Galaxy Tab tablet. The company commented that it would begin integrating the streaming capability within Samsung's Smart TVs sometime this year, the article reported.

"I've heard a lot of talk about TV over IP, and this is the first step," Simmermon stated. "This is the beginning of the elimination of the set-top box, a movement towards a world where you can connect anyone's hardware to the network — or anyone else's network — and enjoy television the way you like it, simple and easy."

Kicking off this month, TMCnet reported that Time Warner (News - Alert) Cable would be sponsoring an innovative monthly 30 minute roundtable show which discusses newly released films that are now available to be purchased on Movies On Demand. Aptly named “Talking Pictures On Demand,” the talk show is available to all Digital TV customers to enjoy at no additional cost.
