To ensure the safety and security of the customer data, Infusionsoft, a provider of marketing automation software for small businesses, today announced that its Web-based software exceeds the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Security Standards Council (SSC) Data Security Standard.
With the designation, Infusionsoft officials say, the company reaches the highest industry level in security of customer data as the company has successfully completed the rigorous certification process.
With the help of tools such as outbound multichannel marketing and contact management to e-commerce and e-mail marketing, Infusionsoft handles millions of online transactions for customers that rely on the company’s Web-based marketing automation software to run their businesses.
The rate of PCI compliance is abysmally low (less than 50 percent) and the threats of fines and a recent rash of high-profile data breaches have not worked any magic until now, company officials say. An Infusionsoft press release cites a report by industry analyst firm Gartner (News - Alert), Inc., Visa USA, which states that last year, only 39 percent of level-one merchants (defined as those that process more than 6 million transactions annually) and 33 percent of level-two merchants (defined as those that process between 1 million and 6 million transactions annually) are compliant with the PCI Data Security Standard.
To safeguard payment card data, the credit card companies created the PCI Data Security Standard, which consists of 12 requirements for safeguarding payment card data. Any company that processes credit card data today could be threatened by cyber-crime attacks, resulting in customer identity theft, company officials say.
“Protecting our customers’ financial data is something we take very, very seriously,” said Clate Mask (News - Alert), president and chief executive officer of Infusionsoft. “Achieving PCI compliance allows us to further safeguard that critical data at the highest levels in the industry.”
Infusionsoft officials say their company offers the only marketing automation software designed specifically for entrepreneurs that enables them to convert more leads into customers. With the help of Infusionsoft, these small companies can automatically nurture prospects and customers until they are ready to buy.
The company recently announced that it is a recipient of AZ Business Magazine’s first-ever Fast 15 Awards. The awards acknowledge fast-growth companies in their particular market sector, showing rapid increase in revenue and market share.
