Donald Keane (News - Alert), former vice president of marketing and sales with RingCube Technologies, has been selected as Angel.com’s new vice president of marketing and product strategy.

RingCube Technologies is a provider of desktop virtualization solutions for the enterprise market, while Angel.com is a provider of interactive voice response, or "IVR" solutions to the enterprise market.

Keane has more than 18 years of marketing experience at a number of world-class technology, software and Internet companies. According to a company press release, he has a “nuanced understanding of how to position and scale growth companies and a deep background in product management and product strategy.”

In addition to his experience at RingCube Technologies, Keane also served as VP of marketing at LegalMatch, a SaaS (News - Alert) solution for professional service providers in the Bay Area. He also served as managing director with global brand responsibilities at EarthLink. In addition he has held positions at Intuit (News - Alert), General Mills and Rust-Oleum.

Keane holds a bachelor’s degree from Hamilton College and a master of business administration degree from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles. He also sits on the board of Leadverse, Inc., a lead generation company in San Francisco.

Angel.com made news recently when it announced that its hosted IVR software will be used to automate caller registrations for the Notify NYC program -- a citizen warning system that was created to enhance New York City's public communication channels by distributing critical text and voice messages directly to residents’ computers, mobile devices and cell phones.

Through this system, which is managed by the New York City Office of Emergency Management, residents can get emergency alerts about natural disasters, acts of terrorism, AMBER alerts, public health notifications, public school closings/delays, and updates about parking rules suspensions. The system sends alerts via the Web, e-mail and SMS text messages.

Citizens can register for the service by dialing 3-1-1 inside of New York City. What’s more, registrants can add, change or remove additional phone numbers, zip codes and notification types at any time. Angel.com’s reliable on-demand IVR system will completely automate the registration process, which reduces the need to use live agents and thus will help the city significantly reduce the cost of implementing the program.
