Video collaboration company Tely expanded its reach to smaller rooms and businesses this week with the announcement of its Tely 200 video collaboration endpoint. The solution works with any cloud-based video service and is easily managed via the new Tely Portal, a cloud-based management platform.
The announcement effectively expands Tely’s reach to small meeting rooms and conferencing spaces. The company is marketing the solution as delivering enterprise-quality video for “huddle spaces,” referring to small conference rooms and other shared meeting spaces. The new Tely 200 endpoint may be easily deployed and connected to video services within minutes.
“IT departments face a growing challenge deploying video collaboration technology across the enterprise to enable creative teams to collaborate more effectively,” said Todd Abbott (News - Alert), president and CEO of Tely. “With its form factor, price point and cloud-based management platform, the Tely 200 is optimized for deployment into the huddle space. This endpoint makes video collaboration available to the creative teams in any space, not just the executive conference rooms.”
Tely is the latest of a number of video and IP phone vendors targeting smaller spaces, smaller organizations and remote and geographically dispersed workforces. Yealink is also focused on this market, offering a full range of IP phones and UC endpoints and solutions. The company also recently partnered with Zoom’s cloud-based HD video conferencing service to offer full video capabilities out of the box. The joint offering includes support for video conferencing, online meetings, group messaging and a software-based conference room solution.
“Video conferencing has become a mainstream business tool,” said Ira M. Weinstein, senior analyst and partner at Wainhouse (News - Alert) Research. “To support the collaboration needs of today’s next-generation workers, organizations will need to deploy video conferencing in more meeting rooms and spaces.”
