Yealink’s (News - Alert) VC120 HD videoconferencing endpoint is now compatible with Zoom’s cloud-based HD videoconferencing service, the companies revealed this week.
Zoom, which was founded in 2011 by leaders from Cisco (News - Alert) and WebEx, aims to make online meetings and group messaging easy via its unified cloud videoconferencing capabilities.
"This collaboration with Zoom not only ensures customers enjoy affordable leading technologies but also ensures that high-quality meeting experiences occur with flexibility and ease," said Stone Lu, Yealink vice president.
As TMC (News - Alert) Labs noted in announcing the winners of its UC Innovation Awards – of which the VC Series was a winner – this summer, Yealink took the U.S. IP phone market by storm several years ago and more recently has upped the ante by introducing a new high quality, easy to use HD videoconferencing solution with extremely competitive features.
“Features we like are the ability to manage the system easily in remote locations without IT support as well as giving users the ability to record locally onto a USB stick without needing to spend any more money on recording equipment,” according to TMC Labs. “And of course for offices where there never seems to be enough bandwidth, we appreciate the efficient transmission of 1080p video at 1Mb bandwidth and 720p at 512Kb.”
The system also includes the following features:
• an 18x optical zoom HD camera;
• imaging at a 1080p level for both portrait video and content ;
• a 360-degree omnidirectional pickup microphone array;
• support for the AAC-LC Ultra HD codec, producing CD-sounding quality; and
• support for H.323 and SIP to ensure compatibility with mainstream videoconferencing systems and terminals;
• a menu-driven interactive interface that is easy to use; and
• a comprehensive startup guide that helps users complete installation in one step.
A remote control dialing/phone dialing and dual dialing mode do intelligent call matching. And three shortcut keys allow for rapid and intuitive operations – helping users to control meetings easily.
