Wesley Clover Solutions Expands IP Trading Desktop Portfolio

By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor

Today business communications has evolved into a full-blown multimedia experience. Bringing multimedia communications to a trading environment, though, can be a challenging task for financial trading firms.

Wesley Clover Solutions, a provider of IP voice communications platforms for financial trading firms and command and control centers, is making multimedia communications easier for these companies through XP-22 IP Trading Desktop, the latest addition to the company's Crossover Series of multimedia trading desktop solutions.

The communications in the trading environment involves people both on and off the trading floor. Scott Harper, vice- president of Product Management for Wesley Clover (News - Alert) Solutions, says that their XP-22 is designed to give financial trading firms the flexibility to manage all types of communications and make their users as productive as possible wherever they are located.

The Wesley Clover Solutions Crossover Series enables users to mix and match an array of IP desktop devices and applications enabling them to visualize, prioritize and control all types of communications instantly, the company said. With this companies can optimize workflow and increase productivity for trading floor teams.

The new XP-22 IP Trading Desktop gives market participants instant connections to their most important contacts whether they are on the trading floor, in the back office or on the road.

Featuring more than 500 standard features, the XP-22 also enables unified multimedia communications encompassing phone calls, instant messages, presence information, call history, floating answer keys, contact directories and rich collaboration tools for audio/video/Web conferencing and document sharing.

Another advantage is that XP-22 can be securely integrated with Microsoft (News - Alert) applications like Outlook and Active Directory and RIM's Blackberry mobile devices to further enhance productivity and mobility, company officials said.

In the words of Chris Corridon, senior vice-president of Marketing for Wesley Clover Solutions, "The XP-22 incorporates the attributes of a turret with the form factor and functionality of a unified communications platform capable of supporting a variety of IP phones, mobile devices and applications."

Crossover Series IP Trading Desktop Platform is designed to suit every type of trader from Portfolio Manager to Power Trader to Trading Assistant, according to company officials. They added the Crossover Series significantly reduces the 'per position' price and eliminates price spikes associated with turret system breakpoints. The entire system control platform is comparable in price to a single interface card in a traditional turret.

Earlier in March, Wesley Clover Solutions announced that Saxon Technologies has selected the Wesley Clover Solutions IP Voice Communications Platform to provide a major capital markets client with a single, virtualized communication infrastructure across more than ten office locations, TMCnet reported.
