Chinese phone manufacturer Yealink took home one of ITEXPO West’s coveted “Best of Show” awards for its latest line of enterprise IP phones, the company announced at the conclusion of the event, held in Los Angeles Sept. 1-3.

 

“This is the first time that we got award from the TMCnet and it is really encouraging for Yealink (News - Alert),” said Stone Lu, vice president of Yealink, one of the emerging manufacturers of IP phone and video phone for the worldwide broadband telephony market. “It proves again the innovative strength of company and for sure we will keep the superiority of product and service in our future work.”

 

At the company’s booth in the ITEXPO (News - Alert) Exhibit Hall, attendees browsed its IP phones, which are equipped with TI chipsets and TI voice engines for high definition voice, according to Yealink.  

 

The IP phones, which are all fully compatible with the SIP industry standard, feature broad interoperability with the major IP-PBX (News - Alert), IMS, NGN, softswitch and other third-party SIP products on the market today for enterprise communication systems.

 

“Our judging panel felt as though this year’s field was the deepest we’ve ever seen for the ‘Best of Show’ awards,” said Rich Tehrani (News - Alert), CEO and group editor-in-chief of TMCnet, which oversees the Expo. “The industry’s largest collection of service providers, enterprise buyers, developers, and resellers come to ITEXPO, to see innovative solutions from companies like Yealink.”

 

In the future, enterprises are expected to take an increasing interest in phones loaded with lots of new features like videoconferencing as costs go down, TMCnet reported.

 

“The technology will become cheaper and easier to use,” industry expert Dan Hoffman of M5 Networks (News - Alert) told TMCnet. “And people will become more willing to update their technology as the economy improves in 2010.” 

 

Market research firm InStat predicts that consumer media phones will generate between $4 billion and $8 billion in annual revenue worldwide by 2013. Additionally, InStat predicts that business media phones will generate $3.3 billion in annual revenue worldwide in 2013.
