IP Phone Maker VoIP Telephone System Expands to Boston

By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor

IP phone maker VoIP Telephone System has expanded its services, offering hosted VoIP solutions in Boston and allowing businesses to leverage the benefits of VoIP without the cost and complexity associated with traditional telephone systems.

Since Voice over IP (VoIP) uses the Internet to communicate, the distance between the origin and destination is irrelevant. It costs the same for every call, no matter what the distance is between the two points. This makes VoIP calling more efficient and cost-effective than convention calling plans. VoIP calls are charged based on the duration of the call.

Advanced VoIP networks don’t need to interface with Plain Old Telephone Systems (POTS). They use specialized telephones developed specifically for IP telephony. Instead of having a standard RJ45 telephone connection they will use network connection, to interface directly with the Internet. These phones are completely portable and self contained.

As VoIP is becoming readily available from the IP phone maker, businesses in Boston can quickly get the service installed. The capex is minimum, so VoIP is the ideal choice for small businesses as well.

Businesses are increasingly relying on VoIP because there is no fear of dropped calls, downed power or phone lines and unnecessary security risks. VoIP has made these worries associated with traditional phone systems a thing of past.

Despite the fact that VoIP calls are made over data networks, the service offers excellent voice quality equal to that of traditional phone calls or even better in some cases. VoIP converts analog voice signal into digital and then sends that information in the form of packets.

VoIP is traditionally offered through computers, but users do not require specialized computers for making VoIP calls. The service can be made available even without the need of a dedicated computer. Such a VoIP service is called hosted VoIP.
