Vadacom Provides Greater VoIP Flexibility with its Buddy Client

When it comes to selecting an Internet telephony platform, there are a lot of factors to consider, but the key factor that traditionally gets the most attention is cost savings. However, according to Vadacom CEO Igor Portugal, this has begun to change.

“Cost is still an important consideration. VOIP can and does deliver significant cost savings over traditional telco solutions even though telcos have been forced to meet the market and drop their call costs recently,” Portugal recently told Techday. “However, what is increasingly driving customers to adopt VOIP-based telephony is the flexibility and ease-of-use it offers — which can offer huge productivity improvements to staff.”

Indeed, mobile communication has grown to become a key element for businesses and most VoIP solutions make it easy to incorporate mobile devices into an organization's core communications system. As Portugal puts it, the ability to manage communications seamlessly across any device, anywhere is increasingly important.

Although this is possible with traditional communications systems, it's just not feasible — especially since VoIP offers such simplicity and even control over the system from mobile devices.

This need for flexibility and integration is even more pronounced in the case of contact and call centers, according to Portugal. “Running an efficient call center means having tools that enable you to see wait times, call durations, operator loads, and even customer satisfaction — all in real-time. Because VOIP platforms are basically software-based, they allow you to deeply integrate communications into your business processes and back-office systems.”

What this means is that VoIP is now undoubtedly a mainstream technology, used in multiple industries to such a degree that customers expect more than just cheaper phone service. Likewise, with the popularity of mobile, customers want the level of flexibility they have on their smartphones for their telecommunications systems.

Vadacom's VoIP PBX (News - Alert), VadaXchange, was designed precisely to meet these demands, and was designed from the ground up to run either in the cloud or on premise. This offering is supported by the company's Buddy client, a Web-based application enables users to manage "every aspect of the way their calls and other communications are handled," according to Portugal.

The Buddy client recently received its second generation update based on customer feedback to provide even greater ease of use, by adopting familiar UI elements. Furthermore, its HTML5 allows Buddy to operate perfectly on a smartphone or tablet.
