Portland State University to Deploy Talisma Hosted CRM Software

By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributor

Portland State University will deploy Campus Management Corp’s Talisma CRM software to advance the institution's admissions, recruitment and retention programs.

The deployment is in line with the university's current legacy student information system, SunGard Banner.

Jackie Balzer, vice provost for Student Affairs of Portland State University noted that the management decided to invest in a CRM solution in order to improve its admissions program and retention efforts.

This move has made them closer to a more unified, Internet-based approach to student services and record keeping online. After evaluating several solutions in the market, the authorities found Talisma CRM from Campus Management to be the most comprehensive and thorough system.

Balzer said the University also appreciates its track record with other institutions that align to its own goals. Currently, the deployment is expected to take care of better management of recruitment and retention.

Looking forward, the deployment will be tapped to improve the school's financial aid program, the School of Extended Studies, Graduate Affairs, and different departments across campus.

“Portland State University is undertaking the critical objective of advancing its recruiting and retention processes. Talisma CRM will help personalize and automate communications from email, chat, telephone, to SMS text messaging and print,” said Timothy B. Loomer, president and CEO of Campus Management. “Campus Management's team will share in this goal to continue best practices in strategic enrollment management, while using proven integrations to other student information systems to make the best of the legacy SIS already installed on campus."
